01. Where do sessions take place?

All sessions are held virtually online using a HIPPA compliant secure Zoom link so that you can join from anywhere in California, no traffic, no waiting rooms, just your couch and a laptop.

That said, try to be somewhere quiet and private so that you can speak freely and without distraction. No Zooming in from Starbucks please.

02. WHAT ARE YOUR CREDENTIALS?

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #155028 and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor #19353 in the state of California. I am supervised weekly by licensed clinician Sarah Iaccarino, LMFT #128686, as part of the California Counseling Collective. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles.

I hold advanced certifications in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-focused CBT, as well as somatic approaches. I completed a rigorous EMDRIA-approved EMDR training program and a multi-level IFS intensive curriculum, ensuring my work meets the highest standards for trauma-informed care.

03. How long is each session?

Weekly individual sessions are 50 minutes. Couples sessions are also 50 minutes.

Need more time? Book an extended Trauma Healing Intensive which is designed for clients seeking more focused support without the start-and-stop of a weekly session.

04. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

04. What if I need to cancel or                      reschedule?

There is no charge for appointments canceled with more than 24 hours' notice. However, appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be billed at the full session fee.

For the complimentary 30-minute consultations if you cancel within 24 hours or no-show, a second free consult is not offered, but you’re always welcome to book a full session if you’re still interested in working together!

However, I always try and give grace for extenuating circumstances. We're human. Life happens, I get it.

05. Does online therapy work for EMDR?

Yes. Telehealth has been scientifically proven to be just as clinically effective as in-person therapy, especially for trauma work like EMDR and IFS. Many clients find virtual sessions more comfortable and accessible, no commute, no office anxiety, just a calm space to focus on your healing.

06. ARE TRAUMA INTENSIVES COVERED BY INSURANCE?

06. ARE TRAUMA INTENSIVES COVERED
     BY INSURANCE?

No. Intensives are private pay only and not reimbursable by insurance. However, many clients find that a focused, extended format leads to meaningful shifts more quickly than weekly sessions alone.

07. HOW DO I KNOW IF WHAT I’VE BEEN               THROUGH COUNTS AS 'TRAUMA'?

07. HOW DO I KNOW IF WHAT I’VE BEEN THROUGH COUNTS AS 'TRAUMA'?

If it felt traumatic to you, that’s enough. You don’t need a specific label or diagnosis for your pain to matter. Trauma is anything that overwhelms your system and leaves a lasting negative impact on you and your life.

08. talk therapy didn't really do much         for me...Will this be different?

08. talk therapy didn't really do much for me...Will this be different?

Yes. In fact, that’s exactly why many of my clients seek out EMDR, IFS, and somatic work, because understanding doesn’t always lead to actual change. If you’ve done the talking and still feel caught in the same emotional loops, this kind of work is ideal. It helps access and heal the deeper layers, the ones living in your nervous system, not just your thoughts.

09. Can I see you for individual therapy       & couples therapy?

09. Can I see you for individual therapy & couples therapy?

Many clients find that individual sessions offer valuable insight that supports their relationship work. That said, it’s important to know that I can see you individually during or after couples therapy, but not the reverse. Once we begin individual therapy, I can’t ethically transition into being your couples therapist. If you have questions about what would be most supportive for your goals, we can talk through it together.

I'd love to hear them. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and it's completely okay to want more clarity. Feel free to book a consult anytime so we can talk through whatever's on your mind.
